Most people want to see some of the "big five", although perhaps not from this close! We spotted this lioness from the relative safety of our LandRover and she resented our intrusion.

This is a white rhino and her calf. Fortunately for us, the white rhino is not as aggressive as the black rhino and we were safe in our Landie. Although it looks, and was, very close, the guides are professionals and we weren't at risk.

These graceful animals materialised out of the bush as we were watching. We were driving on one of the roads in the Kruger National Park and we saw one giraffe faintly through the foliage. They seemed as curious about us as we were about them.
