New! The latest addition to our itineraries and a true adventure, safari and holiday - a 15-day adventure holiday covering the North-West Cape and the Kalahari.

Your adventure holiday begins with a safari in the Kalahari, home to Lion, Gemsbok, Springbok and many other fascinating wildlife species and plants. Next we cruise down the Orange river, meandering through geological formations cut through the cliffs by the flow of the river. From there we travel down the West coast of South Africa to Cape Town, one of the world's premier cities. A trip which shows you the soul of Africa - stark and beautiful.

Kalahari Safari Itinerary

Day 1:
After an overnight flight we transfer directly to the North West province, gateway to the Kalahari. We leave Johannesburg soon after arrival and stop when convenient for breaks and to stretch our legs. We have lunch en route and stop overnight at a hotel on the edge of the Kalahari. With a likely sighting of wildlife on the way and a look at the changing landscape, it is a good introduction to one of the best safari holidays available.
Day 2, 3, 4 ,5, 6:
Your introduction to the Kalahari safari begins here. We journey into the famous Kalahari. We start off with an orientation tour before driving through the desert to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. We have a chance to see Game at any stage but with an afternoon game drive, we can guarantee sightings here. Together with the adjacent Gemsbok National Park in Botswana, this park comprises an area of over 3,6 million hectares – one of very few conservation areas of this magnitude left in the world. Red sand dunes, sparse vegetation and the dry riverbeds of the Nossob and Auob show antelope and predator species off at a premium and provide excellent photographic opportunities.

We overnight in the Park and relax in the hot springs while viewing the infinite canopy of stars of the Milky Way above the gorge. On our way through this trip we get a chance to view the spectacular Augrabies Falls followed by sundowners in the Augrabies Falls National Park. Overnight at an Adventure Centre, 10 km from the Park. We finish off with the Augrabies Rush white water rafting (grade 2/3) through a pristine part of the Park not otherwise accessible to the public. Lunch at base camp before setting off for the next adventure in our holiday.

Day 7, 8, 9 ,10, 11:
A look at an ancient landscape and a unique waterway. The San / Bushmen call it Gariep, others call it the Orange, 2250 km of wet snake slithering to the sea. Our trip covers 55 km on one of Africa's longest Rivers, twisting and turning its way through the Richtersveld; one of South Africa's most spectacular and remote desert landscapes - the perfect way to explore this wilderness from a unique vantage point. This is an unforgettable 4-day River Rafting Experience. We stop at midday on the banks of the river for a lunch prepared by the river crew. After lunch we make our way downstream to the overnight stop on the banks of the river. While the River Crew sets up camp for the evening, guests relax with a sundowner. The Crew then prepares snacks and a delicious dinner. After dinner guests relax around the campfire and we sleep wild on the grassy banks of the river. Our River Crew will prepare all the meals as well as do all the cleaning up afterwards. The menu is designed to cater for a wide variety of tastes and has acquired a well-deserved reputation. Smoked Salmon and steaks are the order of the day, and vegetarians are also well-catered for.
Day 12:
After all this adventure and wilderness, we will be ready for the next stage of our holiday. We spend the next day heading South for Cape Town. On the way we pass through Namaqualand, setting for the most amazing Springtime displays in the floral Kingdom. On the way, we have an option to stop over and view the dramatic rock art of the Khoisan people, painted centuries ago.
Day 13, 14, 15 :
We reach journey's end, and take some time to sample some of the numerous pleasures which the "Mother City" offers. For those who still fancy adventure, there are activities not included in the itinerary such as abseiling off Table Mountain, Mountain Biking to Cape Point, meeting place of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, or a Seaplane flight around the Cape Peninsula. For those who feel otherwise, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the other attractions such as the Wine Route, the Waterfront - the rejuvenated harbour area of Cape Town, or maybe a trip up Table Mountain by Cable car. Whatever you choose, it will be a city you will never forget and we will be happy to advise on choices.
